Under SMP, you will be paid at the rate of at least a Sergeant (E5) for your Guard or Reserve service, and you’ll still receive the ROTC Advanced Course allowance as well ... You are not in the Simultaneous Membership Program until you have contracted with an ROTC program. The only way you can be in the SMP is if you do Army ROTC. If you want to do Navy ROTC instead you will have to get conditionally released by the Reserves (and they can very easily refuse to release you so you may not be able to)..
